At present, KHMR does not have staff accommodation facilities. However, Employee Experience does offer a Housing Newsletter to new employees seeking housing. The newsletter includes short and long-term acommodation options including hostels in town and is sent to all new hires by email with their initial paperwork.
The Town of Golden is located only 20 minutes from the Resort where several options for accommodation may be found. We recommend The local Golden Star newspaper for rental and property listings. There is high demand for local accommodation in December, so it is suggested that housing be secured early. More information about renting in British Columbia is found at Residential Tenancy BC.
In past winter seasons, public transportation from Golden to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort has been provided by shuttle service. Information about the shuttle is communicated during Orientation. We also strongly encourage our staff to car pool.
Golden is a mountain town of over 4,000 residents, located in the East Kootenay region of British Columbia along the Trans-Canada highway and close to the BC-Alberta border. Golden is a vibrant, rapidly diversifying town with a profound sense of community spirit. With tourism playing an increased role in its personality, Golden is attracting people who want to experience a real, authentic B.C. community in a natural, unspoiled mountain setting.
