Competition Rules

  1. Any names entered into the Name The Bronc competition become the property of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Competition participants waive all rights to any name that they enter into the competition and agree that there will be no payment, recompense or other benefit from their entry in to the competition other than the prize if they are selected as the competition winner.
  2. The prize shall be a Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Heli-High Package. This package comprises of 3 nights accommodation, lift tickets for 2 days of resort skiing and 1 day of heli-skiing with Purcell Heli Skiing.
  3. The prize does not include meals, ski rental, or travel to/from Kicking Horse Mountain Resort or travel to/from Kicking Horse Mountain Resort to Purcell Heli Skiing in Golden. These costs are the responsibility of the prize winner.
  4. The prize trip must be taken before the end of the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort ski season of 2010/2011.
  5. The prize has no equivalent cash value.
  6. The prize is non-transferrable without the prior agreement of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.
  7. The competition shall run until midnight of 4th February, 2010.
  8. All competition entries shall be via the online entry form. Any entries submitted via other methods shall be rejected as invalid.
  9. Pressing the submit button is not proof of entry and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort cannot be held responsible for technical errors which result in an entry not being recorded.
  10. The winner shall be the entrant who, in the judges opinion, suggests the best name.
  11. The judges decision shall be final.
  12. The judging panel shall be a group of selected Kicking Horse Mountain Resort employees.
  13. The judges shall be provided with an anonymised list of proposed names from which they shall chose the winner.
  14. In the event that more than one person suggests the winning name there shall be a draw for the winner. The draw will comprise of all those competition entrants who entered the winning name.
  15. Multiple entries to the competition are allowed.
  16. The winning name will be announced at the 2010 Wrangle the Chute event.
  17. The winner will be notified by email and the winning name and prize winner will be announced on the Kicking Horse website and in an email sent to all competition participants.
  18. The winner agrees to participate in promotional activities related to winning the prize during their prize trip and agrees that their name and image may be used by Kicking Horse Mountain Resort in connection with promotion of this competition in both electronic and print media.
  19. The winner must book their trip in advance. The trip is subject to availability and may not be taken over the normal Kicking Horse black-out periods of Christmas/New Year and Alberta Family Week.
  20. Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and Purcell Heli Skiing are not responsible for weather or snow conditions. In the event that these factors result in the curtailment of any part of the trip there shall be no refund or rearrangement of the trip.
  21. To participate in the heli-skiing part of this trip the winner and their guest shall be of at least intermediate ability and must sign the Purcell Heli-Skiing waiver of liability and comply with any other standard terms and conditions of Purcell Heli-Skiing.
  22. Once the winner books their trip it is strongly recommended that they take out suitable travel insurance to cover cancellation or delay in the event that they are unable to take their trip.
  23. In the event that the competition is won by someone under the age of 19 that person must be accompanied by a parent or other guardian when they take their trip.
