Orientation & Culture

TrainingOrientation and Training:

All new and returning employees will attend a paid company-wide orientation day at the start of the season where our President, Directors and Managers share our vision regarding the direction of the Resort and our commitment to both guests and employees.  The Orientation is also an opportunity to meet seasonal and core employees in other departments as well as get to know Managers and those you will be working closely with.

You will also have departmental specific training, scheduled by your department Manager, including a Resort tour to familiarize new employees with the Resort and its many offerings. Training assists us in exceeding our guests' and teams' expectations, so it is required for all employees, including part-time staff.

Culture at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort:

Like the maverick horse that brands our Resort, we depend on the balance of all four legs to succeed.  Our employees are one of those legs, representing one of our four Priorities of Focus. We respect each other's individual values, but we also celebrate shared values across our organization that help guide our decisions:

Pathbook and Toolkits:

Once you accept your Offer of Employment with Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, we ensure that you receive the information you need to work and play here.  All seasonal employees receive a "Pathbook" and all core employees receive a "Toolkit".  Both include information such as guidelines, recognition programs, health and safety, and general Resort information.
