What if I only purchased my BC photo ID after June 30, how do I prove my local resident status?
With a household bill showing your Golden address dated before June 30th or a pay cheque stub from your local employer showing your Golden address dated before June 30th .
I only have an International license and don’t want to give it up for a BC driver’s license. How can I prove my local status?

I am a property owner in the Golden area A district. Am I eligible for a local area A rate seasons pass?
Maybe. If you are a permanent resident of the Golden Area A district, you will have to present your BC driver’s license showing the property’s address along with either a credit card statement or a house hold bill dated before June 30th.
Do I need a new picture on my pass every year?
No. We will gladly use the image on file. Should there been substantial physical appearance changes, we will ask to get a new picture on the pass. i.e. facial hair, shaved head or different color hair.
I am under 19 years old and attending school, how do I prove my local residency?
Your student ID from a local school will be sufficient. A report card from a local school institution issued before June 30th will also be a valid record.
How do I qualify for the Parent Pass?
A Parent Pass will include One Transferable Seasons Pass. The Pass may only be used by one parent at a time.
To qualify for the Parent Pass the following conditions must be met:
- Child must be 6 years and under at time of purchase
- Proof of age is required via Birth Certificate
- Child’s last name must be registered under the father or mother’s last name. Otherwise proof of guardianship is required.
How do I qualify for the Family Pass? How does my Son or Daughter Qualify for the Student Add on Pass?
A family pass will include one or 2 parents and 2 immediate family members, meaning children of 18 yrs old and under. Extra family members fall under the same regulation and will be at the rate as indicated. Children from 19 years of age and older are eligible for the Student Pass, the following conditions must be met to qualify:
- Student must be registered within a recognized Canadian Post Secondary Institution, Valid Full Time Student ID and proof of registration is required.
- Student must be part of the immediate family, in the event the parent is not with the student, written documentation must be provided by the parent along with photocopied photo ID to be cross referenced against the Parents Pass.
- Student must by 25 years of age at time of purchase
- The “Student Add on Pass” may be purchased at any time (during or after) providing the “Family Season Pass” has been purchased and the above conditions have been met.
Note: If the Family is two adults and two students the Family is eligible for the Family Pass with the appropriate student upgrade.
