For 2011 / 2012 Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, in partnership with the Golden & District Community Foundation, will offer the Sprit Pass. 

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort has established this program to support the Golden & District Community Foundation. An endowment fund has been set up that will support not-for-profit community based organizations and initiatives in the Kicking Horse Country community.  All revenues from the Spirit Pass will go to the endowment fund which will be managed by the Golden & District Community Foundation.

The Golden and District Community Foundation is a registered charity. “The purpose of the foundation is to support programs which advance the widest ranging community improvements in such areas as arts and culture, health and social services, heritage preservation, community facilities and programs, education, sports and recreation.”

 
Details

• The Spirit Pass is on sale beginning November 1st, 2011 for the price of $2,000.
• The Spirit Pass is a fully transferrable season pass that can only be purchased by businesses or companies.
• Buy early as there are only 20 passes available each year.
• The Spirit Pass is valid for Winter Season 2011 / 2012 and Summer Season 2012.
• The pass becomes valid as of the date of purchase, and expires on closing day of Summer 2012.
• During the winter season, the pass is valid for skiing, snowboarding and sightseeing.
• During the summer season, the pass is valid for access to the Gondola (including hiking and mountain biking) and the Catamount Chair for the Grizzly Bear Refuge.

The Spirit Pass can be purchased through Kicking Horse Mountain Resort for a donation of $2,000, plus HST* per pass. All revenues from the Spirit Pass will go to the endowment fund which will be managed by the Golden & District Community Foundation.

When purchasing a Spirit Pass, the business or company making the $2,000 donation will receive a Charitable Tax Receipt to the value of $1,199.20** issued by the Golden & District Community Foundation and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort will donate the remaining $800.80 to the endowment fund.

** The tax receipt can be claimed for the year of purchase (i.e. if purchased prior to December 31st, 2011 the tax receipt can be claimed for the 2011 tax year; if purchased on or after January 1st, 2012, the tax receipt can be claimed for the 2012 tax year).
