True Stories

We'll be back....

Finally we get to try out Kicking Horse Mountain! We've been hearing so much about it from the staff at Harper Mountain. Ryan(age 3) & Max(age 5) loved the 'drops' into the bowl. We had a blast! We'll be back....

I knew i had found my favorite hill!

This photo was taken on the closing day 06, first time at Kicking Horse. We didn't know what was going on, when we first arrived mountain bike races were being set up and when we got to the top we were skiing in knee deep powder! It was awesome! I knew i had found my favorite hill!

LOVE AT FIRST RUN..!!

I headed to Calgary for the first time in 2004 for a ski trip with friends. We headed to Golden for what my friend was calling the 'Hidden Gem of the Rockies'..aka..Kicking Horse Mountain. It was a very blue and sunny day, not too cold. My heart was racing with the beauty of your mountain! I fell in love at first run!! Being from the East Coast ...

An amazing proposal

It was a January day in 2007 when I felt it was time to ask my sweetie to marry me. I had never been to Kicking Horse to ski but it just seemed to be calling to me. I plotted my magical weekend and called reservations, booking two nights on Valentine's Weekend. One night at the Glacier Lodge, and one at the Eagles Eye Suite. Informing the reservation ...

Great Family Vacation

Great family vacation. 2008 will be our 5th consectitve year snowboarding at KHMR. Three other families will be joining us this year. Can't wait!!

Spectacular Scenery with Unbelievable Terrain

This photo was taken at the top of Redemption Ridge looking into the Crystal Bowl and across over to Eagles Eye Restaurant sitting on top of CPR ridge, with Terminator Peak in the background. Being three Australians on a snowboarding trip to Canada, having never experienced such scenery, everywhere you look a photo opportunity arises. Although I think ...

snow quality, with its low moisture content, was superb

This was my first visit to Kicking Horse. I traveled via chartered bus from the Seattle area with a couple dozen fellow Boeing Company employees and their guests. We missed a recent dump of new snow, but the skies were blue and the snow quality, with its low moisture content, was superb, (we skiers in the Pacific Northwest feel blessed when we don‚t ...

Simply perfect

Awsome day with local guys on secret spot after days without dump. Simply perfect

ll never forget that day at Kicking horse

Around the start of the year I drove out to kicking horse with my Dad, brother and our friends from Okotoks. After having some food in the lodge we went up to the top of stairway to heaven and dropped into feuz bowl. It had been snowing all night and the day before we had all been getting pretty excited. It was about our 3rd trip to kicking horse this ...

I simply fell in love with the mountain.

In 2007 when I came for the first time to Kikcing Horse, I simply fell in love with the mountain. That's why I decided to come again in 2008 and will surely be back in 2009 ! Kicking Horse just totally rock !

Best Day Skiing of my life

This picture was taken on the best skiing day of my life! Making fresh tracks in some gorgeous POW! Probably took us an hour to make it all the way down, absolutely amazing. The hike as worth every step!
My days at KH were the best skiing moments ever.

THIS MOUNTAIN IS AWESOME

But what made it most memorable for me were the people I met and rode with. I have just completed a 12-week Powdertrip Snowboard Instructor training course, with 14 other Brit boarders, culminating in the CASI Level 2 course and exam which, thanks primarily to Lisa Jenni and Christine Nadon's help, I passed with flying colours. In particular, Lisa's ...

Above Stairway to heaven

I've been meaning to bragg since last February when we had one of the best Kicking Horse eperiences to date. My buddys Jud, Mark and Tom (an amazing skier) climbed above the chair on Stairway to heaven. I stayed back (way too steep for me man) and watched as they decended. First went Jud who jumped turned all the way follwed by Mark who chose his line ...

Truly Unbelievable

Details: It was the final two days of an epic 7 day road trip through four resorts in the Kootenay mountains. The final segment where tall tales are formed and all of the built up confidence from the week is put to the test. It was a family reunion of sorts, my sister who lives in Australia now and my good friend who I flew from Toronto and has ...

dream come true

As an east coast rider this day was a dream come true, it took us nearly 45 min to reach "the white desert" and over an hour to arrive at the bottom. Wow! This mountain completes my winter
like the cherry on the sundae.

What a day!!

What a surprise, I was skiing at Kicking Horse with my daughter for 2 days, when in line waiting for a place in the gondola, I heard some say, "there is Andy from Sutton in line". To my surprise I saw 4 people from Sutton which I knew very well. We had a foot of new snow and every one keep saying, what a day. My daughter said and keep saying "this ...

7 th visit

After our 7th seasonal visit to KHMR , we still find new terrain and places to play in the world famous champagne powder. This is a great mountain not only for the hardcore, but for kids and parents who just like to cruise the corduroy and experience the dry powder conditions.

An Early Valentine's Day Vacation!

We came up that morning, rising at 6:30am for the 2.5 hour drive from Kimberley.
It was Zoltan's first time skiing Kicking Horse. We were both super stoked to go and rip it up!
Upon arrival we picked up our passes and quickly got onto the gondola.
The views at the top were absolutely amazing, by far the best scenery you can find.

The ...

Seeing is Believing!

Equipped with avalanche gear amidst sunny skies, a trio set out from Invermere with modest intentions in mind — would it be too much to ask for a couple of nice turns off the backside and a good photo or two?

After purchasing a one-ride gondola ticket for a photographer accompanying the two pass holding Columbia Valley locals, the boyz headed ...

Real Riding

My brother and I spent a week exploring the woods of Kicking Horse Resort. We stayed in-bounds, but we were able to find some amazing tree runs that kept us on our toes.
It hadn't snowed in weeks before we got there, but the snow was still nice and soft, which is a real mystery to someone from the East Coast. Back home, if the snow is on ...

Great Season

I have just finished my season at Kicking horse and i must say its the best one i've done so far. Previously been to Chamonix and resorts around New Zealand but this place has something for everoyne. Amazing chutes which are always filled with snow as well as fantastic views from the top of terminator. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants to ...

Sick Terrain

I just spent three days riding some of the sickest, steepest terrain in BC. Me and my crew found crazy gulleys, glades, tons of hits along the cat track and wide open groomed runs for carving. Also had a fantastic lunch at the Eagle Eye.

Warp 8 out of Feuz Bowl

On an epic big snow day I had my portable GPS with me. Upon the exit from Feuz Bowl I realized why the trees seemed to move so fast. I topped out at 91.2 km/h. As an added bonus, you may be able to see that the Golden Eagle Express travels at 17 km/h!!!

We had a blast at kicking horse

Ok, so I don‚t have a good photo to submit but as I will later tell you, you will know why.

My family for the last four years has made summer and winter trips up to Golden. Of course with each visit came lots of mountain biking and snowboarding. Last season we were psyched to get out on the hill although me with my obsession to take lots of ...

blissful days

Kicking Horse Resort was the culmination of a holy pilgrimage to the land big mountain powder. I started at Mt. Baker and wound my way north through Whistler and across BC to finally land at my number one destination: Kicking Horse Resort. I spent three blissful days riding my mind out and burning my legs on long, rewarding and powdery runs. My ...
